Fun class outings
Looking for an original class outing in Scheveningen or on the beach?
Beleving aan Zee organises active programmes that bring people together, specifically for secondary schools and classes. Whether you choose an active sports exploration programme, a challenging expedition full of trials or an afternoon of Fun Games, every programme guarantees movement, fun and teamwork.
Our activities take place in the fresh air, with professional supervision and space for classes to exercise and play together safely. A class outing that is fun and also helps pupils connect and develop.
Programme 1
Weekly sports taster programme class outing
In this programme, pupils attend a series of 5 beach lessons introducing different challenging outdoor sports. Options include Powerkiting, Disc Golf, Archery Tag and Beach volleyball. This programme allows several classes to exercise outdoors at the same time in separate bubbles. Classes can also take part separately, one after another, if this fits into the regular school timetable.
Programme 2
Class outing: Expedition Scheveningen (duration: 3 hours)
A morning or afternoon on the beach that brings people together? The activity Expedition Scheveningen consists of various active and challenging trials. From a puzzle course with plenty of riddles to a breathtaking relay race with various obstacles! There are also challenges involving water, making fire or building a giant catapult. Pupils rotate through the various challenges one after another according to their bubbles. Each challenge calls for different skills and qualities. Pupils get to know each other again! Who is quick and agile? Who has a memory like an elephant? And who has spatial awareness? This variety makes the game ideal for reconnecting pupils and, above all, having lots of fun together!
Programme 3
Class outing: Fun Games (duration: 3 hours)
We set up 3 or more complete games for you, depending on the total group size (a minimum of 30 and a maximum of 120 pupils). In addition to the beach, the games can also take place at or near the school by arrangement. Each game is supervised by a Beleving aan Zee instructor.
You can choose from the activities below. Plenty of fun is guaranteed, and the variety of the different elements means there is something for everyone!
Option
One of the teachers involved with Beleving aan Zee is Marjet Dijkstra. We would like to offer you the option of booking Marjet as well. If you choose this, the Beleving aan Zee programme will include a session in which she has short conversations with pupils and uses brief exercises in each class to assess their social and emotional well-being. How have pupils experienced the coronavirus period? How does each pupil feel? Where are they falling behind? What support would help them? You will receive a report of these conversations. Marjet is available for €30 per hour.
Costs
The price depends on the programme chosen and the number of participating classes and pupils. If, for example, you are interested in visiting us with 30 classes over two weeks, we naturally charge a very different price than for one group using our programme for a morning.
To give you an indication:
Example 1
The price for a group of 30 pupils for a three-hour programme is €12.50 per person, including VAT.
Example 2
The price for a group of 450 pupils for a 3-hour programme spread over 3 days and 6 half-day sessions is €7.50 per person, including VAT.
How does the class outing work?
Pupils make their own way to the beach and gather at prearranged locations. A school coordinator informs teachers in advance about arrival procedures and participation in the programme. Existing “bubbles” guide the arrangements, in consultation with you. One teacher from the school remains involved with each participating group throughout the programme. Beleving aan Zee's instructors take over the activity content.
Teachers remain present to make sure everyone behaves appropriately, either from the sidelines or by actively joining in the game. It is also a good opportunity for a teacher to observe the pupils. These are unusual times, and noticing unusual behaviour in a pupil on this occasion may be useful for providing personal support. After the activities, the pupils get on their bikes feeling satisfied and wearing broad smiles!
